Hartwell Place is a memory care facility in Chicago that receives mixed reviews from families and visitors. Many praise its intimate, home-like environment and dedicated staff who provide compassionate care to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. The facility is described as clean, well-maintained, and secure, with a focus on personalized care and community engagement. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities, and meals are served with attention to individual preferences. The staff is often highlighted for their warmth, patience, and responsiveness, contributing to a familial atmosphere that offers peace of mind to families. However, some reviews point out areas for improvement, such as occasional organizational issues and inadequate supervision during nights and weekends. Concerns about theft, maintenance delays, and communication lapses have been raised. The facility's older building and limited amenities, like the absence of an exercise facility or pool, are noted, though some appreciate its vintage charm and cozy setting. Hartwell Place is part of the Chicago Methodist Senior Services network, offering a continuum of care with nearby affiliated facilities. While some find the cost reasonable compared to other options, others mention it as expensive but worth the peace of mind. Overall, Hartwell Place is recommended for its caring staff and focus on resident well-being, though potential residents and families are advised to visit frequently and consider installing monitoring systems for added assurance.

Hartwell Place is an amazing place! My Mom has been there for over a year and she feels very cared-for and active. The staff is very warm and caring and the activities are well targeted to people with memory problems. It makes me happy to see my Mom thriving. She is happy with the staff and the art/music/singing/exercise/movies/gardening and other activities and living her life as fully as possible while coping with memory issues. Thank you, Hartwell Place!
