The reviews for Southwest Commons present a mixed picture of the facility. Some families express deep dissatisfaction, citing unsanitary conditions, inadequate care, and understaffing. They report issues such as dirty living spaces, poor food quality, and insufficient medical attention, particularly at night when no nurse is on duty. One reviewer, a nurse, shared a distressing account of her mother's decline, including weight loss, bed sores, and multiple falls, ultimately leading to her death. She attributes these issues to administrative failures rather than the staff, who she believes are overwhelmed and undertrained. Conversely, other reviews paint a positive image of Southwest Commons. Many families commend the facility for its caring and attentive staff, clean environment, and engaging activities. They appreciate the compassionate care provided to their loved ones, noting that the staff treats residents like family. Some reviewers highlight the facility's welcoming atmosphere, nutritious food, and the staff's responsiveness to concerns. They express gratitude for the support and fellowship their loved ones received, particularly during challenging times. Overall, the reviews suggest a significant disparity in experiences, with some families encountering severe issues while others are highly satisfied with the care provided. The positive reviews emphasize the facility's homely environment and dedicated staff, while the negative ones point to systemic problems that need addressing to ensure consistent quality of care.

Ricky is younger that most residents at Southwest Commons. He is developmentally disabled. He has autism. He is easy going, but does not talk much. He loves all the activities at Southwest Commons. I was worried about how the other residents would accept him, but I shouldn't have worried. Everyone, staff and residents have been very nice.
