Many visitors and residents praise the facility for its beautiful, clean, and well-maintained environment, likening it to a luxury resort or country club. The community offers a wide range of activities, including cooking classes, exercise sessions, and social events like happy hours with live music. The staff, particularly individuals like Dawn, the Director of Nursing, and Cindy, the Marketing Director, are frequently commended for their caring and professional demeanor, making residents and their families feel welcome and supported. However, some reviews highlight concerns about management and care quality. The Executive Director, Qudsia, receives mixed feedback, with some praising her leadership while others criticize her management style as impersonal and quota-driven. Overall, White Springs is described as a vibrant and engaging community with a strong emphasis on resident well-being and family involvement. White Springs is a beautiful facility, but that’s the only positive. While I could write a novel on the negatives, I’m going to focus my review on two primary issues from our experience with my father-in-law’s time at White Springs. First, the corporate, impersonal style of management. Secondly, the quality of care promised and the care actually provided. Qudsia, the Executive Director, is a horrible person to have in a leadership position. As someone who also runs a business, I’m astounded that she is in management. This woman is interested only in quota, and does a terrible job at hiding it. She will bulldoze you any time you try to speak. We had multiple phone calls with her as well as an in person meeting with her, a White Springs nurse, a hospice nurse, a hospice social worker, and a hospice doctor. After the meeting, we and the hospice team were ALL in agreement about Qudsia. We were dumbfounded. She was incredibly rude with no interest in what anyone at the table had to say. The White Springs nurse didn’t say a word during the entire 1-hour meeting. Rather than answer questions or provide explanations, Qudsia shifted blame to other departments and diminished every concern we raised. There are too many examples of poor interactions with Qudsia to write in a single review. Corporate - replace her. Quickly. Moving on to the quality of care. When we first toured the facility with Cindy, we were assured that the level of care needed for our loved one could be met. He is bed ridden and needs assistance with all daily activities (i.e. bathing, eating, dressing, etc). Once moved in, the “point system” continued to increase. While we understood he needed a higher level of care than other residents, we were being charged for care that was NEVER provided. This was admitted by White Springs. For example, transferring him from his bed to a wheelchair for showers. Keep in mind - this is just one example. The list is extensive (no oral care, nail care, rarely assisted with eating, food crumbs all over him, flakey skin, etc). During our meeting with Qudsia, we referenced transferring for showers and she told us they were “not cleared to transfer him.” When we proceeded to ask why we were charged for care that wasn’t happening, we were told to “not make this about money” but rather about “what’s best for him.” None of it made any sense. Bulldozed. In the 30+ days my father-in-law lived here, he never received a shower. His hygiene was consistently poor, at best. Bed baths were insufficient. After about 5 weeks at White Springs (and conveniently after the next billing cycle), we received a call from Qudsia that my father-in-law had 30 days to move out. The reason was due to his care needs and that - VERBATIM - “the relationship with his family is no longer manageable.” His “family” consists of myself and his son. We live nearby and visited him often. We also happened to have a problem with the fact that they were charging money for care that wasn’t provided (which we witnessed often during our visits), and that we had the audacity to question why. Asking questions and having proof of a lack of care made us unmanageable. Read their positive reviews carefully, and you’ll see that many of them were written by vendors or people who simply toured the facility. White Springs will admit you when they shouldn’t, over charge you for care they don’t provide, and kick you out if you ask questions.
