Prairie Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care receives generally positive reviews for its caring, attentive, and professional staff who go the extra mile to ensure residents feel comfortable and happy. The facility is described as clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with a warm and friendly atmosphere that embraces Midwestern values. Many reviewers appreciate the delicious food and the variety of activities offered, such as dominos, bingo, movies, and ice cream socials. The community is noted for its competitive cost structure and value compared to other facilities in the area. However, some reviews mention challenges with staffing shortages, leading to occasional delays in non-essential services and inconsistent scheduling for showers and laundry. Despite these issues, the staff is praised for their dedication and empathy. The facility has made recent improvements in cleanliness and food quality, with new staff additions and changes in the kitchen. Some concerns are raised about rent increases not being matched by improvements in services or staff wages. Overall, Prairie Pointe is recommended for its positive, friendly community and the personalized care provided to residents, making it a great option for those seeking assisted living or memory care.

I have a family member here, and I will say the staff is always hustling, the activities are enjoyable and the food is excellent. We have always had good interactions and have recommended Prairie Pointe Assisted Living to other people, its an tight knit community and just what my loved one needed!

July 2025

This is what we experienced… At least 6 times my mom was served food that was on her allergy list, Each time this happened I contacted director, each time she promised it wouldn’t happen and they have a new system in place, it continued. One aide accused me of kicking her and making incident report, when I denied kicking anyone and asked to look at video from the incident, I was told they didn’t know when it happened, it was very odd, I kept asking for resolution and to see this “incident “ report, it was dismissed due to lack of evidence, whole thing weird. Same aide refused my request to let my mom know what is on her plate she said “that’s not my job, to take it up with director! “When I expressed my disappointment in level of care, director suggested new facility would be best. Often residents do not look fresh, or well cared for, simple requests from resident often not met or ignored, Music was often not appropriate for MC. Most staff was great, but the few bad apples..

Stephanie

July 2025

We had our mom here for one year, I’m so glad we aren’t there any longer. I have so many complaints about things I saw here. Dignity for residents isn’t the number one goal here. I kept in contact regularly with Arelis the director, about my concerns. She would listen and apologize if I had any concerns, however she never addressed the situations with her staff. My mom was served food on her allergy list at least 6 times! Each time we were reassured, it would not happen again, only for it to happen again! When asking the aides to let my mom know what she is eating they stated it was not their job to let the residents know what they were eating and that was an activities department? I often saw a lack of team work and opportunities missed regularly to engage and enrich residents daily life. Often ignored, not much supervision at meals, fake incident reports, inappropriate music for memory care. It’s heartbreaking to watch your parent fade before you, can’t we have compassion for them?
