Last inspection was in 2019. I appreciate anyone who is bilingual, but at the same time residents who have dementia or Alzheimer’s find the fact that they are rarely hearing English from the workers upsetting. My mother was denied snacks and was always complaining about the food. There isn’t a menu with selections of what she wanted the following day, like in a hospital. Mom hates being told what and when to do things as the dementia got worse. I called their phone 3 times and asked to speak with my mom when she didn’t answer her phone and I was told, no we don’t do that and they hung up. They don’t do any activities with the residents. There also isn’t memory care or exercise programs. TV, no movie channels, radio or sitting on the patio were the only choices to occupy the day. My mom no longer reads and nobody was reading to her, she couldn’t follow anyway so wasn’t a loss. They were very good about security and I appreciated that. I do feel terrible when mom told me how lonely she was. I struggled working just to cover the cost. We just felt that the family couldn’t provide care for her as the dementia increased. We looked for a new place for a long time, but the demand was so high it took months and of course COVID created problems. Might be ok short term but I wouldn’t recommend long term. It’s been almost 2 years and mom is calmer and hardly complains in the new home.
