What families are saying

Heritage Waterside, a senior living facility on the Halifax River, receives predominantly positive reviews for its caring staff, beautiful location, and comprehensive amenities. Many residents and their families praise the facility for its welcoming environment, likening it to a family home rather than a typical assisted living facility. The staff, including the executive director Mary Noss, are frequently commended for their dedication, compassion, and personalized care. The facility is described as clean, well-maintained, and offering a variety of activities and dining options that enhance residents' quality of life. Several reviews highlight the seamless transition for residents moving from independent to assisted living, with staff providing attentive support. However, there are a few negative reviews. One criticizes the facility for feeling like a prison, alleging that residents with memory issues are treated poorly. Another mentions a decline in service quality due to staff being moved to a new facility. Concerns about hurricane evacuation procedures and a pest issue are also noted. Additionally, there are serious allegations of racial discrimination and poor management. Despite these criticisms, the majority of reviews reflect satisfaction with the care and environment at Heritage Waterside, with many families expressing relief and gratitude for the peace of mind the facility provides.

My mother who is very independent has been really enjoying her stay at the heritage. The residence at the community are taken care of very well. They have a lot of beautiful outside spaces encouraging people to spend time outside in the sun. My Mother has been a fan of their yoga class.
