Memory care is poorly supervised and staffed. The AL side has lots of aides, but MC does not. More than once I was asked if I would be putting my Mother to bed because they only had 2 people for the 25 residents. The first week after moving Mom in, I was in the family room with my Mother who fell asleep in her chair. I witnessed a physical altercation between two residents. There was no one around. I had to get up and try to intervene. The head aide then called the man's daughter and told her that her Dad needed to go to another facility. I stepped and said, actually the woman initiated the altercation. Not the man. They have since installed cameras. But apparently do not monitor them. As I have witnessed aides sleeping, aides taking out another's hair extensions/weaves. Obviously the employees know they are not monitored. I was with my Mother in her room when one resident went walking past her window OUTSIDE! Alarm going off could not find CEDARHURST does NOT CARE for your loved ones!

All that glitters is not gold. Unfortunately, I speak from experience. I've spent more time advocating for my parents to get better care here than I've been able to feel relaxed that they're in good hands. All concerns are met with, "I'll look into that." No response or answer ever comes. From local OR Corp. If parents are in Assisted Living and you do not ask anything of Cedarhurst, I'm sure your review is complimentary. Our experience has been horrible from day one. I never thought I'd have to use the 30 day guarantee. Now I wish I would have. In the beginning you expect a few hiccups and think it'll be taken care of soon. Nothing is ever fixed. After a $10k community fee you feel held prisoner to stay there so you don't waste that money. Everything from medicine NOT being given for weeks, to NOT showering resident, to poor, disgusting housekeeping, clothes being put in away still wet from laundry...to charges you cannot get answers for and cannot get refunded. DO NOT COME HERE
