What families are saying

The reviews for New Perspective Highland Park present a mixed picture. Some residents and their families express satisfaction with the facility, praising the friendly and caring staff, the clean environment, and the variety of activities available. Many highlight the helpfulness of specific staff members, such as Lynda and Kristina, and appreciate the community's efforts to make residents feel at home. The facility's location and amenities, like the hair salon and podiatrist visits, are also noted positively. However, there are significant concerns raised by others. Some reviews mention issues with staff turnover, inadequate care, and poor communication. Complaints about the quality and temperature of the food are frequent, with some residents in memory care unable to choose their meals. There are also reports of cleanliness issues, such as bed bugs and unwashed clothes, and concerns about safety and maintenance, like broken blinds and door hinges. The lack of activities and engagement in memory care is another point of criticism. Overall, while some families are pleased with the care and environment at New Perspective Highland Park, others have experienced serious issues that have impacted their satisfaction. The facility seems to have strengths in its community feel and some dedicated staff, but it faces challenges in consistency of care, food quality, and maintenance.

This place is horrible! The staff is underpaid, leading to low-quality employees who often spend their time on their phones instead of assisting the residents. The food is disgusting. On New Year's Eve, they served dried-out bratwurst with chips, and some residents couldn’t even keep their meals down. The cranberry juice is watered down, and there’s no housekeeping—nothing is cleaned, and residents' sheets and clothes aren’t washed. Without informing me, they moved my mom to memory care. They don’t even shower the residents or cut their toenails. Activities are scarce—only the occasional bingo because they can’t retain staff due to the poor management of the parent company. I had to contact the parent company multiple times just to get my mom’s medical records, and nobody ever returned my calls. When I emailed Stormie for help, she took 55 days to respond after numerous follow-up emails. This is beyond unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone.
