Scroll further down to read the actual reviews. When my dad was there a year and half ago we constantly had to make sure everything we were told would happen in memory care actually happened. The memory care area was ignored. I hope it has improved but whereever you go check with the Department of Health and Human Services for reports. Be vigilant and don't leave your loved one anywhere and think your job is done.

I called 3 times to get information and talk to someone. I left messages and spoke to someone who offered to take a message. No one ever called me back. This may not be a fair assessment on their care but this initial experience is so poor that I can’t consider them as an option anymore.

Thinking about placing a loved family member in Parmer Woods? That’s great. We had a 91 year-old family member there for over a year. The following are some things we wished we had known before making the decision to move him there. There are some unwritten ground rules in effect at Parmer Woods. Do not ask facility management to provide the services and environment that their PR proclaims. That will make the managers defensive and mad. Do not ask that medicines are administered on time as prescribed. That will make the managers defensive and mad. Do not ask that communication with the memory care unit after hours and on weekends be provided. That will make the managers defensive and mad. Do not ask that activities be provided for residents. That will make the managers defensive and mad. Do not ask managers to return your calls. They will not. Do not ask caregivers to actually give care to residents. In many cases that is just too much to ask. Do not ask that hearing aids

I would suggest you look elsewhere for Assisted Living or Memory Care. This is a facility that listens to your concerns but there is no action regarding your concerns. We were told there would be activities for memory care but we wound up doing a lot for our loved one ourselves. As of a month ago there still wasn't a executive director so staff wasn't accountable to anyone. This is a poorly run place and there are many other places in the area to look. The Cottages, Buckner Villa, Sundara and University Village just to name a few. The times we tried to contact the CEO about the facility and the lady who is the person who came up with the Connections Program, we were met with no response. You and your loved one is just a number here and a dollar sign. Please look elsewhere.

We are so thankful we found Parmer Woods as a home for my parents. We moved them into Memory Care in February 2022 and the staff was amazing at helping us getting everything in place. While there were changes in management going on, the staff went above and beyond in answering questions and providing support for not only my parents but also our family. Staff at all levels is in place now, the community is clean and well cared for, and my parents continue to receive excellent care. We would highly recommend!
