Mom loves it here! It was important to her to stay in her neighborhood, but to make sure we were making the best choice, we toured several. We were ultimately won over by the food here. It is the best around. They tell you what ship the seafood came in on - which she really enjoys! We also loved the garden program. Several areas have been renovated. Andrea toured us and has been a gem over the past year. Very happy with our choice to have mom here.

My mother was a resident here. It was 8k a month. There were usually only 2 caregivers for the entire property which meant many were overlooked. There is an incredibly high turnover which means that residents do not get consistent care. 2 of my biggest issues. My mother told me she was asked to give money for the employee gratitude program. When I asked a woman in the business office why residents are providing bonuses instead of the company she rudely said this is how its done. I've never heard of such a thing. Apparently it's against the rules to tip but why should residents be responsible for a bonus when they're paying so much? Secondly that woman in the business instilled fear in my mother. My mother said she was afraid to complain because she would kick her out. Apparently she wasn't the only one who felt this way. It seemed to me that management was paid extremely well and the boots on the ground were paid extremely badly. That made it worse for residents. The whole place feels like it's thrown together with no planning. Activities were nonexistent, food was not what it should've been, constantly understaffed etc. We have moved her to a much nicer development that actually appreciates her and she has so many new friends. The staff are constantly checking on her and making sure she is OK and all of her needs are met. They even have a full time psychologist, gym, sauna, and pool as well. Cogir has a stationary bike in the nurses office. What a joke. They basically steal the money they are entrusted with because they don't provide the services they promise. Don't put your loved on at Cogir. Research and visit the places and get reviews from residents and their families. If we had done that at cogir my mother would never have gone there and been so sad.
