Jeanne Jugan Center

Named for its foundress and the first Little Sister of the Poor, the nonprofit Jeanne Jugan Center is located on 24 acres in South Kansas City, Missouri. With the dignity of residents the top priority, the community is dedicated to providing independent living for low-income seniors, as well as assisted living and skilled nursing care. The independent living apartments feature a bedroom, kitchenette and living area. Home-style meals, daily enrichment activities and religious services are included. The assisted living and skilled nursing care communities feature private rooms with a private bathroom. The Sisters help residents with daily living care, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, or taking their medications properly. On-site amenities include a hair and nail salon, a chapel with a full-time chaplain who lives on-site, and physical and occupational therapies. A general care physician, dentist and a podiatrist are also available as needed. The Little Sisters of the Poor live on-site and are available around-the-clock to respond to the needs of residents. The community is very much a family-like atmosphere, where residents are welcomed to volunteer in various areas of the center based on their abilities. It’s not uncommon to find residents helping out in the kitchen or visiting with room-bound residents. The Jeanne Jugan Center is known for its serene environment that features acres of flowers and trees, and a pond that is home to a family of ducks. The center continuously receives above average health inspection rankings compared to other senior living communities in the Kansas City area, as well as high reviews from residents’ family members.
