Rosewood Gardens Rehabilitation And Nursing Center

My mother was transferred from the hospital to Rosewood Gardens for a short term rehab stay late this summer. She stayed on the basement level. Although the first floor of the facility appeared well kept the basement level did not appear clean, with visible dirt in the elevator, hallways and common areas. My mother was placed in a room that smelled so strongly of urine that I had to complain to have the room re-cleaned. Housekeeping did clean it again but we could not even open the windows to get the strong chemical smell out of the room. The only chair for visitors in the room was visibly dirty. There were no gloves in the bathroom in her room either. The nursing/aide staff was not responsive or attentive. My mom was left in the bathroom for extended periods of time with her call light on and no response on more than one occasion. When my sister expressed concern about this, the aides were rude and dismissive. My sister would come in to find the call bell and telephone across the room

My sister has been a resident at Rosewood Gardens for 5 months now and will continue to live there permanently. She and I are both delighted with the level of care, amount of attention she receives, the cleanliness of the facility and the kindness of the staff. I had not expected to feel confident in leaving her there because of terrible reports I have heard about nursing homes. We both feel it has actually been a blessing for her to have been placed there when she could no longer live alone. She tells me almost daily of the good experiences she has, the understanding and effective healing and of courtesies paid to her. I have found the staff willing to communicate often and efficiently with me. Thank you, Rosewood and your people!
