Advantage Living Center - Harper Woods

This place (now called "The Orchards Michigan") was a terrible nursing home. Let's start with the rooms. 1) They are small, look like hospital rooms, and does not look anything like the photos they have on their website. No tv or phone provided, and only one tiny closet that has to be shared with the roommate. 2) The Nursing Staff: 95% of them have bad attitudes and hate their job. And the 5% of them that are decent, are only decent some of the time. My mother has been put on the wrong clothes, left in a bed of urine for hours, left in the shower, rudely ignored, and her bed button unanswered. 3) The Administration Staff: Don't care or take matters seriously. Poor communication. Smile in your face, and say yes to fixing things, but after you leave, they go back to acting like nothing ever happened. My mothers clothes and blanket were lost, and never reimbursed. Some crazy nurse actually went on a rampage and cut up my mother's shirts and jeans. I showed the clothes to the Nurse, Head Nurse, and Manager, and they all said we would be reimbursed. Never happened. 4) Food: Little variety, bland, crap. 5) Rehab: A joke. Barely any real workout equipment, and I even had to bring my mother her own pedal exerciser. Listen....do yourself a favor and never go here for any reason. You will definitely be disappointed, mad, and stressed out the majority of the time. After two years of this crap, I moved my mother to a better nursing home.
