Vero Health & Rehab Of Sylva

My mother has been in VERO in Sylva, NC for 2 months. She is very well taken care of by the staff. The home is old but clean, no urine smell. The staff has been excellent in their care for Momma. They want to make this home the best it can be.

My husband has been there for 10 days and was given a bed that a very large person previously slept in leaving a huge depression in the mattress. I have been trying to get this resolved but I am met with one excuse after another. My husband has a very difficult time getting out of that bed and can never make it to the bathroom. No one at this facility cares about it. My husband is too timid to say anything for fear of upsetting someone so he complains to me. I had to wait for 4 days before anyone would tell what was going on. From what I have heard they could care less about their patients or the families. I would love to get him out of this nightmare facility but every rehab facility is full. This place is horrible!!! I hope they read this because I am absolutely furious and because I am blind, I cannot go to be with him to be his advocate. Everything you ask them is one excuse after another. I am not saying he deserves special treatment but I do expect them to honor their promise to get him a bed he can get in and out of and sleep comfortably.
