Very nice community with a good setup and a clean environment. I like the apartments and programs for seniors. The tour was good and informative.

Staff seems kind and caring ( especially the dining room) at times, nursing staff is short handed, not checking residents in proper amount of time, promised showers aren’t being given. Supplies are being stolen. Care is not what is being told to new residents families. Please improve this. Please! They deserve it. There can be emails with more sent to support this.

I lived there for one year and 3 months too long. At first glance it does seem livable but after one month you know many things are wrong and this is not the place you want to live in for the rest of your life. Management is poor, activities are ho-hum, if you don't have a car, you will feel like you are in jail. You never ever know what to expect with the food. It is nice having a washing machine and dryer in your apartment which is not luxury by any standards. The only great thing about this place are your fellow inmates. This complex is surrounded by a big apartment complex built in the 1960s. That makes it rather noisy BUT it is located in what I think is the best area of Richmond.

I recently had the opportunity to tour the Barrington at Hioaks, and I was blown away by everything this property offers. It's true what they say about not judging a book by its cover, as this is apparent in the oldest Hioaks care facility. One of the standout features for me was the availability of amenities and services that truly go above and beyond. One particular aspect that caught my attention was the on-site hairstylist who accepts outside appointments and clients. This level of convenience and flexibility is a testament to the Barrington's dedication to meeting residents' needs. Additionally, the private gym instructors who come at an affordable cost make it easy for residents to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. The longevity of this senior living community should speak for itself. For more than 40 years, The Barrington has taken care of the local Richmond senior residents with a caring staff in a beautiful atmosphere.

In touring, the Barrington at Hioaks, the newly renovated community, which is now under RUI ownership, I was wowed by the new transformation! Not only are the aesthetics gorgeous, the apartments ones I would consider! RUI's signature programs (at all their locations) such as Luxe, FIT, Meals, RUI University, Leash for Life which allows the residents to keep their pets, are all wonderful programs! Residents were engaging, happy and so wonderful! Their memory program, Inspiritas, was a great area! View the community for yourself!

I had a tour of Barringer today. Everyone I met was happy and everything was very efficient. A true loving community of professionals.

The staff is wonderful and treated me very well, This was my 2nd time and it has been very clean and a happy experience. The meal was fantastic and service in the dinning room was very good. Thank you for such a great introduction to The Barrington!

we took my friends grandmother on a tour to see the facilities and the staff was wonderful. the rooms were clean. my friend overall experience was great! The grandmother is not there any more . the family was pleased with the services at this facilities.
