Jean Bohnker has been making an impact with families in the field of early-childhood for 35 years. For a majority of her career, Jean served as a preschool special education teacher, focusing on special needs children and as well as their families. Her passions have taken Jean into both the public education system and nonprofit organizations serving as an advocate, parent liaison, coordinator of services and supervisor. As an instructor at Iowa Western Community College, she taught child development classes sharing her knowledge and experiences. Most recently, Jean served as the Director of Early Childhood and Family Support Services at FAMILY, Inc. in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In 2018, Jean was awarded Project Harmony’s “Child First” award for her work and advocacy with children and families in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. John has been a National Sales Manager for Case IH, AGCO, Dupont and other agricultural companies. He will continue working at his sales job as the they ramp up Assisted Living Locators in Southwest Iowa, and Eastern Omaha region. Jean and John have been married for 38 years and enjoy family time with their 4 daughters, sons-in-law and nine beautiful grandchildren. Jean and John are farm kids who grew up in Iowa, and after living in Minnesota, Georgia and Wisconsin, they are happy to call Southwest Iowa their home. Jean and John are excited to be a part of the Assisted Living Locators family and are eager to provide education and services to our communities and their seniors.
