What families are saying

The reviews for Westmore Assisted Living present a mixed picture. Many reviewers praise the facility for its welcoming and caring staff, highlighting individuals like Kayla Carpenter, Sierra, and Bert, the activities director, for their exceptional service. The community is described as clean, well-maintained, and offering a variety of engaging activities, which include exercise classes, games, and social events. The dining experience is generally well-received, with some noting the quality of the food and the pleasant dining environment. However, there are significant criticisms as well. Some reviewers express concerns about inconsistent care, particularly in assisted living, citing issues with medication management, housekeeping, and communication. There are complaints about high staff turnover, which has affected service quality, and some mention a lack of responsiveness to residents' needs. The facility's administration is criticized for poor communication, especially regarding billing and care plans. Additionally, there are reports of maintenance issues, such as a broken elevator, and concerns about safety and security. Overall, while many residents and their families appreciate the community atmosphere and the dedication of certain staff members, others feel that the facility falls short in providing consistent and reliable care, particularly for those requiring more assistance. The reviews suggest that while Westmore has potential, improvements in management, communication, and service consistency are needed to meet the expectations of all residents and their families.

My husband's 101 year-old grandmother was at The Westmore for about 7 years - first in their independent wing then later in assisted living, and finally there with the help of hospice. I cannot say enough good things about the care, compassion and programming she received while she was there. The truest testament was when we would pop in unannounced and listen outside the door to her conversations with the staff. They always had such cheerful and loving tones in their voices when they worked with her. To me, how the staff acts when no one is watching is the ultimate test of quality care, and in this regard they continually surprised me. If you are considering this location, do not hesitate in any way. Your family member will be cared for and loved.
