"I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Smith Village. The staff are very caring and compassionate, and they truly go above and beyond for their residents. My mom loved living there, and we were always very impressed with how clean everything was and the quality of care she received. Its right in Chicago so even though I don't live there, it was always relatively easy to get there when I needed to." - Joyce…

"I do not recommend the Memory Care unit at Brookdale Senior Living in Orland Park, IL. They are not qualified to care for dementia residents. I experienced numerous issues from early on with the facility. The management is unprofessional and is not held accountable for serious errors. The staff is not trained and cannot follow critical directives. Ultimately, they did not honor my loved one's DNR which created senseless suffering for him and left our family devastated. Please look elsewhere. I read similar reviews after my experience. Memory Care is not worth the risk, others are more appropriate. Please be warned." - G…

"Hello, my mom was in Peace Village Independent living from January 2019 - September 2024 when she passed away. She loved it and was taken care of by a great staff. The biweekly cleaning staff, Linda and Susie, did a great job but also went above and beyond for my mom. Truly special people that worked at Peace Village for so many years. Also Dawn in the cafeteria would check on my mom if she didn't see or hear from her. Jake was the renovations person at the time and put in cabinet lighting and a backsplash that my mom loved to show off. So many kind people working at Peace Village. The 3 maintenance staff were great too! Also, they always had festivities for the staff. My mom loved the Afternoon Teas. The food, decor was amazing! The weekly happy hours, special lunch popups, etc. the Christmas decorations are amazing. My mom loved sitting by the quiet pond in the rocker with a cup of tea from Branches. We have so many great memories there." - Kathleen…

"BEWARE! This is a poorly ran facility that does not hold its staff accountable for providing safe quality care. They hire new nurses who are not skilled or trained properly and are only useful for passing medications. Nurses do not notify the doctors when there is an important change in resident's condition. Caregiver staff oftentimes do not provide the care that is required, for ex. morning ADLs and showers. Caregivers are oftentimes listening to music and talking on the phone while working. There are continuous increases in rates that force people to move. The cameras in the rooms do not monitor the residents' safety but only take a video if there is a fall. Staff are not aware of resident's fall until the next morning. My mom was found numerous times on the floor when it was time for her to get up for breakfast. Nightly rounding every 2 hrs is never done. Daily activities are not provided throughout the day, Residents mostly watch TV. Frequent supply shortage. Not worth the cost." - Anonymous…
