"BEWARE! This is a poorly ran facility that does not hold its staff accountable for providing safe quality care. They hire new nurses who are not skilled or trained properly and are only useful for passing medications. Nurses do not notify the doctors when there is an important change in resident's condition. Caregiver staff oftentimes do not provide the care that is required, for ex. morning ADLs and showers. Caregivers are oftentimes listening to music and talking on the phone while working. There are continuous increases in rates that force people to move. The cameras in the rooms do not monitor the residents' safety but only take a video if there is a fall. Staff are not aware of resident's fall until the next morning. My mom was found numerous times on the floor when it was time for her to get up for breakfast. Nightly rounding every 2 hrs is never done. Daily activities are not provided throughout the day, Residents mostly watch TV. Frequent supply shortage. Not worth the cost." - Anonymous… Read more

"I do not recommend the Memory Care unit at Brookdale Senior Living in Orland Park, IL. They are not qualified to care for dementia residents. I experienced numerous issues from early on with the facility. The management is unprofessional and is not held accountable for serious errors. The staff is not trained and cannot follow critical directives. Ultimately, they did not honor my loved one's DNR which created senseless suffering for him and left our family devastated. "Smith Crossing is Beautiful for Independent Living. Mom has been there since 2006 and now that she’s in skilled nursing (at 98 yrs) she’s not treated with the compassion and respect she deserves. The full time staff is pretty good the agency people couldn’t care less. I’m disgusted and the price on here is way off !
