They assured us they would take care of him, have a geriatric psychiatrist visit for proper dementia meds and a room in memory care. After 8 weeks, no meds, no bed on memory care floor and now we have to admit my Dad into a hospital to get the proper dementia meds. Unfortunately, we still have to pay them. "The staff is constantly changing. Food portions are that of a child size plate. Supplies that were delivered from Amazon for my dad have gone missing. We had 45 diapers six days later they were only 11 diapers left and they had gone through 240 adult wipes. Yesterday when my sister brought my dad back to memory care after spending the day at her house, they found somebody else in my dad‘s room sleeping in his bed. His room was locked and he had the key fob so the question is how did somebody get in my dad‘s bed. They have cameras in the room which they try to force you to pay for, so how did this happen? What a blessing it was, that a room was available for him in the assistant’s living building at that time. Blaise has gone through many ups and downs since he moved in, but he is truly happy in his one-bedroom apartment. The nursing staff under the Care Director, Marinela B is outstanding. Up until this past Friday, Blaise liked to travel out of town, and it always entailed a lot of extra planning. All his Meds needed to be prepared, and he needed extra help and guidance in the preparations for his trips. The nursing staff has always been very efficient and helpful. But most of all is the help we get from Marinela. She has been such a comfort to us. No matter what time I walk into her office with another Blaise wish, she finds time for me and a solution. "The facility is clean and nicely appointed, but not well-run or a good value for the money. In the short time our mom was there (almost two years), they have had three executive directors. With the exception of Allie at the front desk, Westbrook is not a caring supportive community. Our loved one was in independent living, but the director did not tolerate us advocating for our parent who was starting to need additional support. No care or concern shown. They are corporately owned and are concerned with their image rather than residents. They operate with minimal overworked staff, and offer minimal services while raising rates.
