Oaks on Parkwood

It is a beautiful face but don't be fooled by the brochure. The staff is good but overworked and amenities are fake. There are few enrichment activities for residents on a weekly basis. Like all establishments this staffed by lazy, indifferent workers. Turn over is often and can be confusing to residents. Could low wages be a problem. While visiting a friend at the Lodge, there was no one available to ask the location of my friend. The two staff members at the "desk" acted as if I was disturbing their day. Very surly attitude. No hellos or can I help you. Indifference! It's a pretty face much like a Hollywood set but does not live up to their promises in the brochure. The high cost of an animal is extremely high at a one time $750.00. This is confusing as studies have shown that animal ownership is most beneficial to seniors. The meals seem to be a problem with everyone at the Oaks. Too much salt, to many fried foods, not enough fresh fruit. Is there a "nutritionist" on staff?
