Heartis Mid Cities receives mixed reviews from residents and their families. Many praise the facility for its friendly and professional staff, spacious and well-lit environment, and a wide range of activities and amenities, including a heated salt-water pool, library, and dining options. Residents appreciate the sense of community, with some highlighting the attentive care provided by staff members like Gabby Sparks and Gloria, the activities director. The facility is often described as clean and modern, with a welcoming atmosphere. However, there are notable concerns, particularly regarding staffing issues. Some reviews mention a lack of hot water, inadequate laundry services, and insufficient care in memory care units. Complaints about understaffing and high turnover rates are common, with some residents experiencing delays in receiving assistance. The dining experience has also been criticized for changes in food quality and limited options in memory care. While many residents and their families express satisfaction with the overall experience, others feel disappointed by unmet expectations and communication issues with management. Although our father received good care due the week, the weekends were sorely lacking staff to meet residents needs. Once my father had to have his leg amputated, we were told Heartis Mid-Cities could not meet his needs. He was hospitalized on June 28th and never returned to Heartis. The family moved all his belongings out on August 28. As per Heartis guidelines once a resident has been gone 20 consecutive days a refund will be issued. As of today we are still waiting on a refund. Phone calls are never returned and there does not seem to be anyone of authority to contact. Heartis Mid-Cities has been a heartbreaking experience.
